What We Believe

Art Praha Galerie embraces the United Nations’ definition of sustainability “to meet the needs of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” We have the following “green” practices in place:

   1. We recycle glass, plastic, paper, carton, old cell phones, used batteries, electronics, printing cartridges, and other recyclable materials.

   2. We replaced majority of our lighting with energy efficient lighting and we switched all batteries to rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries (Ni-MH).

   3. We requested to be removed from all marketing lists to save the unnecessary papers and catalogs being transported to us and we encourage our partners to use email communication.

   4. Most of our materials (business cards, brochures, fliers, etc.) are printed in house to ensure that we use “Eco Friendly” materials as well as minimizing unnecessary printing.

   5. We focus on reusing. If we receive a package, instead of recycling it we reuse it in our own shipping. By reusing we are more efficient and “greener”.

   6. To maintain the appearance of the Galerie we strive to be as “green” as possible by cleaning our windows and other furniture with a homemade solution of vinegar and lemon juice versus using harsh chemicals that harm our environment. We brought plants into our gallery and they are cleaning the indoor pollution. Not only they look beautiful but also they have a purpose. For example, we chose bamboos because of a vapor called “Toluene/Xylene”; this vapor is present in the air and it is brought into the store every time somebody opens the door. By having the plants inside the gallery we are naturally cleaning the environment instead of removing the pollutants with chemical sprays.

   7. When purchasing our furniture we chose recycled fiberboard furniture over wood in order to save our environment. We worked with a company with a certification under the “Rio Declaration on Environment and Development of 1992” to ensure that the creation of our furniture was not contributing to environmental degradation.

   8. We are currently offering $5 discount to all customers who will bring our original bag or box for their future purchase. We have added a message to our business cards: “Please share this card or Recycle it!” encouraging and reminding people that green matters.
